Why is the Resurrection the Heartbeat of Christianity?

Jesus Christ rose back from the dead - so what? Why is the resurrection of Jesus Christ important?

It proves who Jesus is. Not just a teacher, not just a prophet — but the Son of God. "Declared to be the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead." — Romans 1:4


It demonstrates that God accepted Jesus' sacrifice on our behalf. The debt of sin was paid in full — and the resurrection was God's receipt. "He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification." — Romans 4:25

It validates the forgiveness of our sins. Without the resurrection, our sins remain unforgiven. With it — we are set free. "If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins." — 1 Corinthians 15:17

It shows that God has the power to raise us from the dead. The same power that rolled back that stone is available to us. "The Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you." — Romans 8:11

It guarantees that those who believe will be resurrected unto eternal life. Death is no longer the end. It is a door. "Because I live, you also will live." — John 14:19

Now here's what makes this Easter extraordinary.

Virtually all scholars agree that Jesus Christ was crucified and rose in the year 33 AD. And on that year, the Friday that Jesus was crucified was April 3rd, and the Sunday He rose was April 5th. These dates were determined not just from Scripture, but from astronomy, the Jewish calendar, and Roman historical records — all converging on the same conclusion.



This year, 2026, the Holy week falls on those same dates. Good Friday on April 3rd and Easter on April 5th. We are not just remembering the resurrection. We are standing on the same Sunday - exactly 1,993 years later.

He is risen. Happy Resurrection Day. ✝️
